HISTORY OF THE BLUEBIRD
The Bluebird Café and Grill began in 1982 when Jennifer Grant, owner of a natural food store, expanded her business to include a small healthy eatery. Inspired by a local friend who helped repopulate the Eastern Bluebird in Dufferin County, the café—originally a vegetarian spot—soon expanded its menu to include Italian cuisine. In 1989, it became officially known as The Bluebird Café and Grill. Since 2019, husband and wife Michelle and Rick Arsenault, long-time Orangeville locals and hospitality professionals, have proudly carried on its long standing traditions.
“The Bluebird was the first restaurant we dined at when we moved to Orangeville and it remained our favourite ever since. We always said if the opportunity to purchase it ever arose, we would jump on it. We did not want to see anything happen to a staple of our community.”
